21 Days of a Tree

21 Days of a Tree is a performance and video work that explores the relationship between freedom, order, and the development of an unrestrained society. I transplanted a sapling into a ruin, allowing it to grow freely without watering or fertilization. The work reflects on a society without political power—seemingly free and unrestrained, yet its development may lead to instability, decline, and eventual destruction. Through the tree’s growth over 21 days, the piece metaphorically addresses vulnerability, natural progression, and the inevitable consequences of human systems out of balance, inviting viewers to contemplate the delicate equilibrium between autonomy and governance.
